The end of the year is always a time for reflecting on what you've accomplished. Having alumni salute you for it makes those feelings all the more meaningful.

I'm going to Europe, like people in movies do. How is it that people know what they're doing when they do things?

When you find something you love as intensely and completely as I love Oberlin College, it's hard to consider leaving. But the whole point of coming to college is to graduate, right?

The thing is, I know there are more people out there than the ones I see around all the time.

The last week of my first year at college--sniff!--went by far too quickly in a blur of studying and packing. There were last hurrahs with friends and final exams. And then, quite suddenly, everything was over.

It's a goodie blog! Like a goodie bag, but in blog form! Get it?! See, it's funny because they sound so similar!

Dear Oberlin, please come back. Love, Abby

I'm trying to legitimize my urge to play with my food, take photos, and make movies. I think my film is a good start in that direction.

Closing thoughts on my first year of college. Note the forced alliteration in the title!

Not that I dislike Oberlin's small, enclosed environment. It's been an incredible space to figure out who I am, what I like, what I don't like, what matters to me, and what I want to do about it. But it is time to leave.

In high school, I did this thing called The Quote Book.

In order to get an idea of the scope of Winter Term projects, we asked students to submit photos. We received shots from the top of Kilimanjaro to the Mad River Valley in Vermont; Prague to Washington, DC; Seattle to Oberlin. Then we made an album.
