Admissions & Aid

Oberlin students often pass through Wilder Bowl several times a day to get to class, the main library, their residence hall, or other common space. The grassy open area is walkable, though one will find the occasional unicycle as a preferred mode of transport. Photo credit: Kevin Reeves

Oberlin’s learning environment is like no other. It combines a top-ranked liberal arts college, a prestigious conservatory of music, and one of the finest academic art museums in the country—all on a single campus.

We look for students who have demonstrated high academic achievement, who care about the world, who believe they can make it a better place, and who have the courage to try. And while Oberlin is highly selective, the student body is down-to-earth and noncompetitive.

Our artist faculty will mentor and challenge you to be the professional musician you want to be. Study with them on our all-Steinway campus, practice in rooms with windows, and learn for yourself why we received the National Medal of Arts.
