Oberlin’s learning environment is like no other. It combines a top-ranked liberal arts college, a prestigious conservatory of music, and one of the finest academic art museums in the country—all on a single campus.
We look for students who have demonstrated high academic achievement, who care about the world, who believe they can make it a better place, and who have the courage to try. And while Oberlin is highly selective, the student body is down-to-earth and noncompetitive.
Our artist faculty will mentor and challenge you to be the professional musician you want to be. Study with them on our all-Steinway campus, practice in rooms with windows, and learn for yourself why we received the National Medal of Arts.
We’re committed to bridging the gap between your financial need and a top-notch college education. Whether you’re doing the math or researching grants, we’re here to help.

Investing in education equates to an investment in human potential. At Oberlin College, our financial aid policies reflect a historic commitment to inclusion and academic excellence.
Financial aid packages meet 100 percent of the demonstrated need for every student as calculated by the Office of Financial Aid. Grants typically make up about 75 percent of a student’s award, with the balance composed of work-study and low-interest loans.
