Families of graduating seniors can review helpful information about the graduation process below.

  1. Your student must apply to graduate.

  2. A mailing will go out to families in late February/early March regarding commencement weekend with instructions about how to reserve tickets for events. If your student has not applied to graduate, you will not be included in this mailing.

  3. The academic advisor and degree auditor will be reviewing every student's record; if the degree auditor finds that a requirement is not fulfilled, they will email your student. Your student needs to check Degree Works in OberView to make sure all requirements are either met or in-progress. The Office of the Registrar can help if you have questions, or send email to degreeaudit@oberlin.edu.

  4. Thanksgiving is a good time to check in with your student. Did your student apply to graduate? Did your student register for everything needed to complete requirements in the spring semester?
