Transcripts

The Office of the Registrar processes official transcript requests.  To learn more about the various transcript types, their distinctions, and the process for ordering an official transcript, please take a moment to review the information provided below.

The legal name is reflected on official and unofficial transcripts. If you would like to update your legal name, please refer to the information on our Name Changes webpage which details the policies and procedures governing legal names, as well as how changes can be made. If requesting an official transcript, please await confirmation your legal name change was processed before submitting a transcript request.

Students have the right to access their transcripts for employment purposes, regardless of whether they have outstanding institutional debts. You can find a list of resources available to students with institutional debts on the Office of Student Accounts webpage.

Official Transcripts

The Office of the Registrar processes official transcript requests. It typically takes at least three business days to process, so be sure to plan ahead.

What’s Included:

An official transcripts provides certification of a student’s academic record and is printed on a security enhanced paper, contains the signature of the college registrar, and is placed in a sealed envelope.

An Oberlin College official transcript includes: 

  • Transfer courses
  • Oberlin College coursework and their corresponding grades
  • Cumulative GPA
  • Concentration(s), major(s), and minor(s)
  • Date of Graduation

How to Order an Official Transcript

Oberlin College has appointed Parchment as the designated agent for processing and sending official electronic transcripts on behalf of the college. Official printed (paper) transcripts are available for ordering online as well.

You can order your transcript online. The PDF transcript that is produced using this service contains the identical information as the printed transcript and can be certified as unaltered by uploading the file to the company's website that is provided during the delivery process. Parchment has been granted the authority to deliver all such electronic transcript requests on behalf of Oberlin College and respond to any inquiries regarding the transactions.

Pricing
The total cost for one official transcript is $9. Payment is accepted via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). Your card will be charged at time of order placement.

Transcript Processing Time
Generally, you can expect that your transcript will be delivered to the requestor within three working days, assuming your authorization has been submitted and no holds restrict the issuance of a transcript. If you need the transcript delivered in less than three days, please contact our office for special arrangements.

Unofficial Transcripts

Oberlin College does not send unofficial copies of transcripts to students or alumni. 

If you are a current student or former student with ObieID, password, and have access to Banner Self Service your unofficial transcript can be printed directly from Banner Self Service. A task in OberView titled "View My Unofficial Transcript" will guide you to the correct Banner Self Service web page. 

If you are a former student with no access to Banner Self Service, please request an official transcript.

An Oberlin College unofficial transcript includes:

  • Transfer courses
  • Oberlin College coursework and their corresponding grades
  • Term GPAs
  • Cumulative GPA
  • Concentration(s), major(s), and minor(s)
  • Date of Graduation, if applicable.
