FGIE Advisory Board

The First-Generation and Income-Eligible Advisory Board at Oberlin College and Conservatory aims to identify and eliminate barriers to first-generation and income-eligible (FGIE) student success through exploration, collaboration, and innovation.

A collaborative initiative between students, faculty and staff, the FGIE Advisory Board began in the fall of 2024 and meets quarterly each academic year to identify, discuss, and resolve real and potential barriers to first-generation and income-eligible student success. Members of the advisory board hold a deep commitment to FGIE student success and often identify as a first-generation or income-eligible student themselves. Advisory board members serve as additional points of contact for FGIE students searching for resources or support.
