Students enrolling at Oberlin and attending classes on campus for the 2018/19 school year will be billed and enrolled in the Oberlin student health insurance. All students are required to have health insurance while attending Oberlin College.

Waiving the health insurance must be done online . The deadline to waive the health insurance is August 31, 2018 for the full year or January 31, 2019 for spring coverage. You will receive a confirmation number when you successfully complete the process. Please review future statements to make sure the adjustment to the charge has been made to the student’s account. International students may not waive the College health insurance.

Cost for the 2018/19 school year is $1,664. The policy period is August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019.
Cost for the spring term only is $966. The policy period is January 1, 2019 through July 31, 2019.

To Enroll

  1. Go to Academic Health Plans
  2. Login to the system by using your previously created login and password.  If this is your first time enrolling please use the following:
    • Login – Student ID #
    • Password – Date of Birth in MMDDYYYY format
      * If you need to reset your password, enter your full Oberlin email address (firstname.lastname@oberlin.edu)
  3. On the home page, click the green "Enroll-Click Here" enrollment button
  4. Read the Terms and Conditions
  5. If you accept them, enter your initials in the box and select the ok button

To Waive

  1. Have a copy of your current insurance card available
  2. Go to Academic Health Plans
  3. Login to the system by using your previously created login and password.  If this is your first time waiving please use the following:
    • Login – Student ID #
    • Password – Date of Birth in MMDDYYYY format
      * If you need to reset your password, enter your full Oberlin email address (firstname.lastname@oberlin.edu)
  4. On the waiver home page, click the red "WAIVE-Fall 2018-19" button found under the "NO, I do not want the insurance." section
  5. Enter your insurance information
  6. Select the ‘Submit Waiver’ button at the bottom of the waiver form
  7. You will receive a confirmation number when the waiver has been properly submitted.  Please retain this number and review your account to ensure the waiver is posted.
