Oberlin College Library

The Oberlin College Library, housed in the Seeley G. Mudd Center, is the central or main library facility for Oberlin College. It is situated in Wilder Bowl in the heart of campus.

Oberlin Public Library

Oberlin Public Library was first operated in 1947 by means of a contract between the city of Oberlin and Oberlin College.

Observatory and Taylor Planetarium

In the dome atop Peters Hall, an observatory features a telescope with a 14-inch aperture for viewing comets, stars, planets, and other astronomical phenomena.

Old Barrows

Walk five minutes south of campus and you’ll stumble upon Old Barrows, a beautiful brick, pillared building with a large luscious lawn in front. Old Barrows is a safe residential community for anyone who identifies as female or trans, regardless of race, nationality, religion, assigned sex, or sexual orientation.

What may look like the inside of a life-sized concrete box serves as the rehearsal room for Oberlin Steel or OSteel, a popular student-led performance group.

Peptide Synthesis Laboratory

This lab is equipped to chemically synthesize small proteins from amino acids, which are the building blocks of all proteins. The lab includes an automated peptide synthesizer, as well as a high-performance liquid chromatography system.

Perlik Commons, Science Center

Perlik Commons is on the main floor of the Science Center and is a popular area for students to study, grab a snack, and generally hang out with friends.

Peter B. Lewis Gateway Center

The Peter B. Lewis Gateway Center is a highly sustainable, four-story, mixed-use building that serves as the front door to the city of Oberlin and the Oberlin College campus.

World language classrooms and offices for academic services and programs are found in this picturesque building completed in 1887 and renovated in 1996.
