The Patricia ’63 & Merrill ’61 Shanks Health and Wellness Center, adjacent to the Jesse Philips Physical Education Center, encompasses 16,000 square feet of new space, plus a new 25 yards by 25 yards pool and Cooper Recreation Lane. The center is designed to encourage healthy connections between the body and mind as it features spaces that support both mental and physical activities and programs.

The Shanks Health and Wellness Center has a dedicated Abeles Wellness Room with TRX bands, medicine balls and dumbbells; the Koppes Spin Room with 17 bikes; the Krislov Fitness Studio with more than 50 exercise machines; and the Canavan Multipurpose Room for yoga and group fitness classes.

The center has a student lounge and two offices for staff. A conference room doubles as a drop-in space for Counseling and Psychological Services and a resource hub for the Office of Accessibility Services.
