Student Health Services exist as an exemplary provider of comprehensive, cost effective, and compassionate medical care and health education to the students of Oberlin College.

We provide primary care services to all students at Oberlin College, regardless of insurance coverage. Students may see a physician, certified nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, or registered nurse for a broad spectrum of illness and injuries, as well as follow-up care. We also maintain a network of local experts who can offer additional specialty care as needed.

Oberlin College Student Health Services (SHS) is working with Lorain County Health and the Ohio Department of Health to provide the most appropriate COVID-19 testing recommendations to members of our community.  At this time local emergency rooms and hospitals are overwhelmed and it is not recommended for all patients with fever and/or cough be tested for COVID-19.  During office hours, SHS is available to do a COVID-19 phone triage for patients with fever or respiratory symptoms.  During this triage we will help guide students about whether they need testing and where to go if testing is recommended.   SHS does not have the ability to do COVID-19 testing onsite.  We also recommend students call the Ohio Department of Health (833-427-5634) if you have fever and/or cough and want to know if you should be tested.   If you have any severe symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion, lethargy or dizziness please go to the emergency room immediately and call prior to your arrival (440-775-1211).
