Student Health Services exists as an exemplary provider of comprehensive, cost-effective, and compassionate medical care and health education to the students of Oberlin College.

After-hours and Emergency Care

If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to Mercy Allen Hospital Emergency Department at 200 W. Lorain St.

For non-emergencies, visit Mercy Health-Oberlin Walk-in Care by calling 844-462-3806 option 4, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM., located at 224 W. Lorain St., Suite 100.

Student Health Services practitioners provide primary care services to all Oberlin College students, regardless of the type of insurance coverage. Students may see a certified nurse practitioner, or a registered nurse for a broad spectrum of illness and injuries, as well as follow-up care. These are some of the services we offer:

We also maintain a network of local experts who can offer additional specialty care as needed.

Oberlin College Student Health Services (SHS) continues to collaborate with Lorain County Health and the Ohio Department of Health to provide the most appropriate COVID-19 information and testing recommendations to the members of our community.  

We recommend students call the Ohio Department of Health (833-427-5634) if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 and want to know if you should be tested.   

You can also schedule a virtual appointment with the providers listed in the health care providers section.  

Should you have any severe symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion, lethargy, or dizziness please go to the nearest emergency room and call prior to your arrival. If in Oberlin, call Mercy Allen Hospital at 440-775-1211.

The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at has provided a variety of online resources that cover every aspect of the pandemic known as COVID-19. 

Ohio Department of Health: Testing Sites

1.     Open your STUDENT HEALTH PORTAL by clicking on the link from the OC Student Health website or through Oberview (Medicat) on your phone.

2.     Click on the IMMUNIZATION tab, click Enter Dates, and scroll down to Influenza vaccine. Enter the date you had the vaccine administered. SUBMIT.

3.     Click on the UPLOADS tab, select Immunization record, click Select File and choose the picture of your flu form to submit. UPLOAD.
