Fall 2023 Health Guidance
August 22, 2023 2:45 PM
Welcome back!
We look forward to having students, faculty, and staff back on campus for the upcoming academic year. ObieSafe and Student Health Services will continue to do our part to help keep everyone as healthy and safe as possible.
The following health guidance is being shared to help our community as we return to campus for the start of the fall semester:
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
Students must have received one (1) updated Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 shot, regardless of whether you have received any original COVID-19 vaccines. All students without an approved medical or religious exemption are required to enter the dates of all COVID-19 vaccinations and submit proof of vaccination via the Student Health Portal. If you are unable to access the portal, you may send this information to health@oberlin.edu.
Masks
Masks are optional, but recommended both indoors and outdoors during the first few weeks back on campus. While Lorain County is not currently in the high-spread category, ObieSafe will be monitoring the statistics closely. Free masks remain available at Student Health Services.
COVID-19 Positive Test Result
Consistent with ObieSafe Policies and Protocols, a positive test result must be reported by emailing obiesafe@oberlin.edu and the updated CDC recommended quarantine period should be applied. Free COVID-19 test kits remain available at Student Health Services.
Flu Vaccinations
Student Health Services will continue to offer annual flu shots and treatment, as needed.
Self-health Checks
We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to continue assessing their health and to monitor for any symptoms of COVID or flu.
Together, we look forward to the start of a healthy, safe, and productive academic year. If you have any questions, please send an email to obiesafe@oberlin.edu.
