The following information is intended for transfer students admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences.
For their initial registration, transfer students will meet with a member of the Academic Advising Resource Center staff. This staff member will reach out to schedule an individual meeting with each transfer student to discuss previously completed coursework, how the credit applies to the Oberlin curriculum, and the registration process. After this meeting, students will be able to register for their courses.
In future semesters, students will meet with their academic advisor to discuss their academic progress and courses of interest prior to registration

All new students are assigned an advisor. Transfer students are able to declare a major upon admission and receive an academic advisor within the department. However, it is recommended that students declare their major after they have an opportunity to meet individuals within the department.
