How soon after being hired do benefits go into effect?

If your date of hire is on the first day of the month, benefits will be effective on your date of hire. If your date of hire is not on the first day of the month, benefits go into effect on the first day of the month following your date of hire.
Example:
Date of hire is July 1. Benefit effective date will be July 1.
Date of hire is July 13. Benefit effective date will be August 1.
