Spring Move-In

If you did not live on campus during the Fall 2025 semester but will be attending classes on the Oberlin campus this Spring 2026, please complete the Spring 2026 Housing Registration in your Housing Portal. 

Due to the mid-year placement, students will be placed by the Office of Residence Life into open spaces across campus that meet any approved accommodations and prioritize student preferences to the greatest extent possible. Students applying for housing for the Spring 2026 semester will not participate in a Housing Lottery to select a room.

Complete the Following:

Spring 2026 Housing Registration (If you haven't done so already)

Roommate Requests: The roommate request timeline has ended, and no new requests can be submitted at this time. 
Room Availability: Please note that single-occupancy rooms, divided doubles, and apartments have limited availability. Most students during this period are typically placed in double-occupancy rooms with roommates. If a student has approved housing accommodations through the Office for Disability and Access, placements will be made with these in mind based on space availability. 

Housing Placement Timeline:

• Winter Term Arrivals: Students returning for Winter Term will begin to receive their housing placements in late December. Students arriving later into the Winter Term will be placed throughout January and ahead of their arrival, as long as they have registered for Winter Term Housing by the listed deadline. Temporary assignments may be made if a students' Spring 2026 room is not ready at the time of their Winter Term arrival.
• Spring Semester Arrivals: Students returning for the Spring Semester can expect to receive their housing placements in mid-January. All placements will be made by January 30.

Spring 2026 Early Arrival

Should a student only need an early return to campus for the Spring semester, there is no need to register for Winter Housing. Rather, the department should complete the Spring Early Arrival Registration.

Register for a Spring 2026 Early Arrival here. Students must be logged into their Oberlin email account to access the form. 

Regular Spring Move-In: Sunday, February 1, 2026 (begins at 12:00 p.m.)

Early Arrivals: January 30, 2026 & January 31, 2026*

*Arrivals before January 28 must be requested through the Winter Housing Application. 

Individual Requests

Residence Life is offering some opportunities for students living in campus housing this spring to return to the Oberlin Campus up to two days before their scheduled move-in date.  
1. are registered for the Spring 2026 Semester, 
2. have made the required payments for the Spring Semester, 
3. are not living in OSCA locations or off-campus, and  
4. have a special circumstance or are participating in a certain group/opportunity making it important for them to be permitted to arrive earlier than the scheduled move-in dates.
