Connect to eduroam
eduroam is an authenticated and encrypted wireless network that will protect the communication of your portable devices, such as laptops and cellphones. eduroam allows students, researchers, and staff from participating institutions to connect to the Internet at Oberlin and when visiting other participating institutions https://eduroam.org/where/
If you need help connecting to eduroam while you're on another campus, first submit a ticket to the Services Portal. For additional assistance, contact the local IT Help Desk.
macOS
- Turn on Wi-Fi and select the eduroam network.
- Enter your Oberlin email (jsmith@oberlin.edu) and ObieID password.
- Click Join and accept the security certificate.
If you get an error:
- Visit https://cat.eduroam.org/ and download the eduroam installer for Oberlin College.
- Install the profile and enter your Oberlin email and password.
Windows 11
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and select eduroam from available networks.
- Enter your Oberlin email (jsmith@oberlin.edu) and ObieID password. Accept the certificate.
iOS
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.
- Select eduroam and enter your Oberlin email (jsmith@oberlin.edu) and ObieID password.
- Tap Join and Trust the security certificate.
Android
- Install the geteduroam app from Google Play Store.
- Open the app and select Oberlin College.
- Enter your Oberlin email (jsmith@oberlin.edu) and ObieID password.
Chromebooks
- Click the Wi-Fi icon and select eduroam.
- Enter the following settings:
- SSID: eduroam
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
- Server CA certificate: Do not check
- User certificate: None installed
- Identity: your Oberlin email (jsmith@oberlin.edu)
- Password: your Okta password
- Anonymous identity: leave blank
- Save identity and password: check this box
- Click Connect.
