The Office is not responsible for the wages, safety, working conditions or any other aspects of off-campus employment. It is the responsibility of the students and alumni to take the necessary precautions when interviewing for and accepting part-time, full-time and/or internship positions.

Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy
Career Exploration and Development adheres to the ethical standards of the Principles of Professional Conduct for Career Services and Employment Professionals (October 2019) which was established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Career Exploration and Development holds its staff as well as employers and third-party recruiting organizations recruiting Oberlin students and alumni accountable to these principles to ensure that:
- Students can openly, freely, and objectively select employment opportunities, making these choices based on their assessment of the best use of their abilities, their personal goals, and all other pertinent facts;
- The recruitment process is fair and equitable to students and employers alike; and
- Support is available for informed and responsible decision-making by students.
Career Exploration and Development also expects students using our services to understand and adhere to NACE’s position on students’ Rights and Responsibilities as a Job Seeker.
