This post doesn't really have much to do with Oberlin College, but after last night's thrilling Cleveland Cavaliers win over the Orlando Magic, I got to thinking about how it isn't just college campuses where one can find international diversity.

Say "commencement" and I think of the iconic hats in the air, traditions, pomp and circumstance, formality... But Oberlin students don't really DO traditional.

Is it worth visiting Oberlin over the summer?

For those of you abroad who don't know, this past weekend was a holiday in the US: Memorial Day.

Thankfully, there were senior members who talked me through the best ways to peel garlic, fry potatoes, and make an omelet. Never would I have imagined that a group of students could be efficient and capable enough to orchestrate what functioned like a self-contained dining hall.

As we approach Oberlin's Commencement Ceremony, I couldn't help but think about Commencement speeches that I've heard over the years.

Remember how I mentioned there are all these distractions during reading period and finals? Ah, yes, there is another one I failed to mention earlier, and that is PACKING.

You can't do everything at Oberlin, but by god do we all try.

Generally, I'm a very confident, extroverted person. Unless I'm performing.

Despite study breaks, things still get odd around finals.

I never knew how much Randolph Coleman meant to me and how much of an impact he has made on my life until he retired.
