Alumni Association
Alumni Leadership Council Goals & Structure
- Foster strong, lifelong alumni connections among alumni, current students, and Oberlin College
- Enhance alumni support to the College through both services and direct financial contributions
- Secure the relevance and long-term health of the Association through programming and the identification and cultivation of diverse alumni leadership, volunteers, and groups
- Assist the Office of Alumni Engagement in achieving its strategic and programmatic goals
- Through personal volunteerism and inspiration of others, and in coordination with the Office of Alumni Engagement, effectively deliver on the programs, activities, and responsibilities taken on by the ALC
Up to 27 volunteers may serve on the ALC, with staggered terms and defined roles to ensure that members represent students, identities, talents, regions, class years, volunteer roles, and diversities found within the Oberlin alumni body. Roles on ALC include:
- Officers: President, Immediate Past-President or President-Elect, and Secretary/Communications Officer
- Three affinity or charter group members
- Committee Chairs: Careers Commitee, Trustee Search Committee, Awards Committee, Leadership Development Committee (co-chairs)
- Liaisons to Admissions and Annual Giving
- Up to three student representatives
- Up to 11 At-Large Members representing the diversity of our alumni body
- Past Presidents of the Oberlin Alumni Association are ex-officio non-voting members
During the 2026-27 academic year, the ALC is reviewing its guiding documents and structure to ensure that they reflect the work and goals of the council, and that they align with the goals and objectives of Oberlin College and Conservatory.
