Members of Apollo's Fire and Oberlin Conservatory present music by Bach and Haydn for Family Promise of Lorain County

On Sunday, February 17 at 3 p.m., musicians from the widely acclaimed Apollo’s Fire Baroque Orchestra and Oberlin Conservatory of Music will perform in a concert to benefit homeless families served by Family Promise of Lorain County. The concert will be held at First Church in Oberlin and donations are welcome.

Oberlin Conservatory Takes Manhattan, Part 1

“Great Midwest Conservatory Brings Its Fruits to Market, in New York” reads the New York Times headline for Vivien Schweitzer’s January 21 review of two concerts in the Conservatory of Music’s 2013 Illumination Tour of New York City. In all, 155 student musicians; 38 faculty and staff members, including musicians and support staff; and a multitude of alumni musicians and composers, took part in the tour, which included six performances in four venues from January 15 to 19.

Oberlin Music Label Releases New Disc by the Contemporary Music Ensemble with Faculty Clarinetist Richard Hawkins

Oberlin's Contemporary Music Ensemble, under the direction of conductor Timothy Weiss, released their debut recording on the Oberlin Music label at their DiMenna Center concert in New York City on Friday, January 18. The CD, A place toward other places , features solo performances by conservatory faculty clarinetist Richard Hawkins.
