Each year, Green Energy Ohio presents Green Achievement Awards to individuals, businesses, universities, nonprofits, and government and community entities for the work they have accomplished in advancing GEO’s mission. Oberlin College will be recognized as the 2022 recipient of the Green Achievement Award for Academia.

Arman Luczkow will apply his leadership and language skills as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Taiwan. 

A musical studies and law and society major, Sarah Wong applied for the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to honor her Taiwanese heritage while becoming more fluent in her family’s ancestral languages.

Role focuses on African American and African diasporic musics, aligns with studies in both the college and conservatory.

Assistant Professor of Economics Evan Kresch will travel to Spain next spring as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, where he will continue his research and teach at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

The ACSL Fellowship focuses its support on early-career, untenured scholars. In addition to funding, the award will allow Levett to decrease her teaching load and devote more time to her current book project on surrealism in Arab literature. 

Double-degree student devotes coming year to performing, choir directing, and continued studies in North Carolina.

Oberlin College, in collaboration with the Oberlin City School District, has received a $50,000 award from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund to complete the Environmental Dashboard system that will be incorporated in the district’s new elementary school.

On Sunday, June 5, Oberlin College will celebrate the Class of 2022 with a Commencement ceremony on Tappan Square beginning at 9:30 a.m. Cyril Amanfo ’22, a neuroscience and theater major, was selected by the Commencement Class Speaker Search Committee to address the graduating class. Associate Director of Media Production Mathias Reed’s dedication and commitment to supporting the institutional mission throughout the pandemic is one of the reasons he was selected for the 2022 YB Staff Award.
