Community Music School
Ensembles
Guitar Ensemble
Guitar Ensemble is for guitar students in grades 6 and above. Learning the guitar in a group setting improves students’ listening, musicianship, and performance practice skills. We will explore written music from various eras and genres; some prior experience with note reading on the guitar is therefore necessary. There will be a further component involving improvisation and composition for the group. The class will meet for one hour per week and will perform in public at least once during the semester.

Chamber Music
The Oberlin Community Music School’s highly successful chamber music program is an excellent way to work on sight-reading, rhythmic precision, communication and listening skills, while fostering a love for music. Small chamber groups of 2-5 students will be formed and will have weekly lessons from a master teacher of chamber music. This 10-week session will culminate with a chamber music concert to be held in various venues around Oberlin. Adult students, we'd love for you to come and enjoy the fun of playing chamber music too.
