Community Music School Tuition
Tuition is charged per semester for private lessons and classes.

Tuition may be paid in full at the beginning of the semester or monthly by the 10th of each month. Fall semester invoices will be mailed late-September - payment due October, November, December, and January. Spring semester invoices will be mailed late-January - payment due February, March, April, and May. Summer session invoices will be mailed late-June - payment due July and August.
A $10 late fee will be added to the balance due for payments received after the 10th of the month. After two late payments, a scholarship may be revoked or lessons suspended. We will take extenuating circumstances into consideration.
Registration Fee: The Community Music School will confirm receipt of your online registration either in writing or by telephone. Upon this confirmation, a one-time $20 registration fee is charged for each family. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied towards tuition.
Tuition does not include books or festival, competition, registration, or audition fees.
Instrumental Lesson Fees
All tuition listed below is based on a 16-week semester.
NOYO (The Northern Ohio Youth Orchestras) has scholarship money to help their students with private lessons. They will generously be putting $8 toward a 60-minute lesson, $6 toward a 45-minute lesson, and $4 toward a half-hour lesson for our CMS students. - 30-minute weekly lessons - $586

Suzuki PIANO Beginner

Trial Lessons: A trial lesson may be requested by either the student or the teacher. No additional fee will be charged for the trial lesson; however, if a student decides to enroll, the trial lesson will count as their first lesson for which they will be charged.
Withdrawal from lessons: Students wishing to withdraw may do so given one months notice. Students will be billed for four lessons beyond the date of the withdrawal.
Early Childhood Fees
The fees below DO NOT include any private lesson fees.
Musical Beginnings
For children ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers to learn music as a native language.
- Includes: Twelve 30-minute sessions
- Class Dates: Mondays, 4:15-4:45p.m.; or Fridays, 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
- Fee: $120 per semester
MusicPlay
For children ages 3 to 5 to learn techniques for musical interaction.
- Includes: Twelve 45-minute sessions
- Class Dates: Tuesdays, 5:00 - 5:45 p.m. or 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.
- Fee: $150 per semester
Withdrawal from classes: For classes canceled due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued. For students withdrawing prior to the second scheduled class date, tuition will be refunded less the prorated fee if the student attended the first class. From the date of the second scheduled class, no refunds will be given. Students will be billed accordingly.
Musicianship and Theory Fees
The fees below DO NOT include any private lesson fees.
Musicianship Classes A
Students learn music literacy skills including rhythm, ear-training, basic note reading, and more.
- Includes: Ten 30-minute sessions
- Class Dates: Thursdays, 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
- Fee: $100 per semester
Musicianship Classes B and C
Students will develop written theory and ear training skills.
- Includes: Ten 45-minute sessions
- Class Dates: Thursdays, Mus B 6:30-7:15p.m. and Mus C 7:00-7:45p.m.; Sundays, Mus D and E: 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.
- Fee: $130 per semester
Withdrawal from classes: For classes canceled due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued. For students withdrawing prior to the second scheduled class date, tuition will be refunded less the prorated fee if the student attended the first class. Ensemble Fees

Guitar Ensemble
Guitar students in grades 6-12 meeting weekly for group lessons to explore a variety of genres.
- Includes: Twelve 60-minute sessions
- Class Dates: Tuesdays, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Fee: $140 per semester
Chamber Music
Groups of 2–5 students who have taken 3–4 years of private lessons for weekly group lessons from a master teacher of chamber music.
- Includes: Ten 60-minute sessions
- Class Dates: day and time depends on group availability
- Fee: $130 per semester

Composition Fees
The fees below DO NOT include any private lesson fees.
Electronic Music
Class and individualized instruction to learn expression through sonic imagination and composition of computer-generated music.
- Includes: Ten 75-minute sessions
- Class Dates: TBD between faculty member and student at a time that is mutually beneficial for both parties.
- Fee: $150 per semester/10, 30-minute sessions
