Staffing Guidelines

Campus Safety provides security and crowd management for athletic events, concerts, lectures, student activities, and other special events.

While event organizers may request a specific number of officers, the Department of Campus Safety will determine the appropriate staffing level based on a risk assessment. Factors considered include, but are not limited to:

  • Expected attendance

  • Nature of the event

  • Event location

  • Alcohol service or consumption

  • Previous event history

  • Cash handling or ticket sales

  • Other safety and security considerations

A three-hour minimum is required for each assigned officer.
