Oberlin Blogs

Julia H. ’28

Hi! I’m Julia, and I am a second-year at Oberlin. Though I’ve only just begun the process of declaring, I’ll be pursuing majors in classical civilization and art history with a writing and communication minor. If it wasn’t obvious, I love writing and history in all of their forms. I’m from a very small town in New Jersey, right outside Philadelphia, but I have felt right at home in Oberlin since my first tour junior year of high school.

While I like to spend most of my time with friends in one of our various favorite campus study spots, I also love to stop by club volleyball, the rock wall, CATSS (Community Action to Save Strays) kitten open hours, and help out around Keep Cottage, where I have a very intense role as one of the co-op’s FunCos (party & events planners). I also love the occasional spin or yoga class if I’m feeling brave.

My dad and I loved reading these blogs when I was trying to figure out if Oberlin was the right school for me. Whether it’s through stories, advice, or my many opinions on Oberlin culture, I’m so excited to contribute to this space and document my time here! Hopefully, I can do the same thing for you that these blogs did for me.
