Evan Kresch Named U.S. Fulbright Scholar

Assistant Professor of Economics Evan Kresch will travel to Spain next spring as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, where he will continue his research and teach at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Allegra Hyde Gives Podcast Interview on Her Novel

Assistant Professor of Creative Writing Allegra Hyde was interviewed on the podcast "Origin Story" about her novel, ELEUTHERIA, as well as about the utopian imagination, climate activism, and approaches to writing.

Annemarie Sammartino Publishes Book on Affordable Housing Development Co-op City

May 20, 2022

Professor of History Annemarie Sammartino published Freedomland, Co-op City and the Story of New York with Cornell University Press. The book uses the affordable housing development Co-op City, located in the Northeast Bronx, as a lens towards writing a new history of New York City that tells the story of race, ethnicity, class, urban crisis, and neoliberalism— but also of community, resistance, and utopia.

Jane Sedlak ’19 Studies the Chemistry of Wildfire Smoke

April 20, 2022

Jane Sedlak graduated from Oberlin College in 2019 with a degree in chemistry and was named the winner of Oberlin’s Nexial Prize. Given to a student who demonstrates academic excellence and an interest in cultural study, the Nexial Prize comes with a $50,000 award, which afforded Sedlak the opportunity following graduation to study art conservation at the Louvre in Paris. She is currently a graduate student at University of California San Diego.
