Oberlin Blogs

Evan H. ’26

Hello there!

I came to Oberlin from a suburb of beautiful Portland, Oregon, and found a second home in the Oberlin community. I’ve now graduated—how time flies!—with a double major in creative writing and biology and minors in Spanish and linguistics.

Outside of academics while at Oberlin, I served as a Peer Advising Leader, campus tour guide, Lead Resident Assistant, board member for the Oswing and Blues Society, singer in Pitch Please (Oberlin’s all-gender, all-genre a capella group), dining member of Harkness Co-op, and founding instructor of the TabletopDesignCo experimental college course!

Now, post my graduation, I have plans to become a published author—look out for my forthcoming young adult fantasy fiction novels! I am a co-designer of the tabletop roleplaying game Alterra: Age of Exploration, and other interests of mine include playing tabletop games and Nintendo video games in my spare time.

While on campus, I lived in Dascomb, Burton, East, Woodland, and South Halls. You could often find me studying in a room on the fourth floor of the Mary Church Terrell main library or in the Science Atrium.

I wholeheartedly enjoyed my four years at Oberlin, and recommend the experience to many others as well.
