The Ashby Business Scholars Program begins in the first module of the fall 2025 semester with a Business and Finance course that is specifically designed for Ashby Business Scholars. The course will provide career identification, research and preparation skills, with a particular emphasis on business, finance and consulting.

During Winter Term 2026, the program will culminate in an enriching trip to various cities. Past ones have included Cleveland, New York, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco/Silicon Valley. Scholars will have the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of alumni, parents of alumni, and employers, particularly focusing on professionals in business, consulting, and finance. Career Exploration and Development oversees the Ashby Business Scholars Program, under the leadership of Yoshiko Tsompanos, MBA.

Who Can Participate?

This is an exploratory program, open to rising sophomores through seniors, and we encourage students of all majors to apply. Past participants have included Conservatory, College of Arts and Science, and Double Degree students, and majors have included the natural and social sciences as well as the humanities and arts. Fourteen Business Scholars are selected through a competitive application and interview process.

What is the Cost?

Accommodations and other expenses are subsidized through the generous funding provided by alumni. Students are expected to cover miscellaneous expenses and some meals while visiting other locations. Scholars are also expected to dress appropriately for both business formal and business casual environments. Financial support for professional clothing may be available for students with demonstrated financial need.
