Ish Houle ’23

Hi there! My name is Ish and I’m a third-year! I’m from the great city of Washington, DC, but am ridiculously excited to trade in excessive traffic and political chaos for beautiful cornfields and small-town warmth!

Here at Oberlin, I’m a psychology major, creative writing minor. I run cross country and track for Oberlin (Go Yeo!) and am super involved in student radio at our station, WOBC. Here at Oberlin, you can usually find me somewhere in Mudd Library (I adore finding new study spots each week), in my co-op Pyle snacking on some freshly made tasty things, or sitting on the porch of our student union Wilder with my friends! I could also be in a tree at our Arboretum, just a hop skip and a jump from campus.

I’m trying my best to keep using my film camera while I’m in classes or doing psych research, I love doing some creative writing on one of our quads (admittedly, because it is a great place to people watch), I’ve been practicing my childhood piano skills and putting them to the test (most recently in an Imagine Dragons coverband), and I always take full advantage of free Monday night movies at our theater in town, the Apollo!

If you ever have any questions or said something you want to hear more about let me know! I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all, and I hope you enjoy!
