Self-Recording

The Conservatory offers several recital halls equipped with audio and video-ready self-recording systems available for student and faculty use. We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the equipment before reserving a space. Doing so ensures that your reserved time is used efficiently, rather than spent learning how the system works during your session.

Students and faculty can learn how to operate the self-recording systems by reviewing the step-by-step written instructions or watching a tutorial video created by Associate Director Graham Rosen. In the video, Graham explains how to use each system and demonstrates how to properly format your flash drive before recording.

In addition to the recital halls, many classrooms throughout the Conservatory are also equipped with self-recording capabilities. To reserve any of these spaces for recording, please contact the Concert Productions Office to schedule a time.

  • A supported USB thumb drive (flash drive) is required to use the self-recording systems. You may purchase one for $10.00 (tax included) at the Audio Services Office (Robertson 129) during regular business hours, or refer to the list of approved drives to purchase one independently at your own expense.
