Incoming students are invited to join virtual programs hosted by the Academic Advising Resource Center and academic departments to learn more about course selection, advising, and registration.
Department Information Sessions
A number of academic departments will host virtual information sessions throughout June and July. These sessions offer an opportunity to meet faculty, learn more about areas of study, and ask questions about courses and majors. View session dates and access Zoom links.
Overview & Portfolio Introduction
This session will provide an overview of what students can expect for advising and registration this summer. We will then dive deeper into items such as course placement exams and surveys, selecting your first-year seminar, and creating your advising portfolio.
The webinar is first offered on Thursday, May 14, at 7:00 pm EDT and again on Wednesday, May 20, at 7:00 pm EDT. The same material is covered at each session.
Bachelor of Arts Summer Advising and Course Selection
Staff from the Academic Advising Resource Center (AARC) will explain the different types of advisors, discuss general approaches and resources for creating a plan for your first semester, and review key steps to prepare for registration. Bachelor of Arts+Bachelor of Fine Arts Summer Advising and Course Selection
Join Academic Advising Resource Center staff and Julia Christensen, Professor of Studio Art and Director the BA+BFA Integrated Arts Program, to discuss what to expect as a BA+BFA student, general academic resources, and how to plan for registration.
