Winter Housing

Deadline to Apply: December 20, 2023

Winter Break VS. Winter Term Housing

Winter Break Housing (December 22, 2023 to February 3, 2024) is new this academic year and gives students an opportunity to stay in their rooms between the fall and spring semesters. The housing cost is $40 per night, and dining is $40 per night when applicable, see dining details below.

Winter Term Housing (January 2, 2024, to January 31, 2024) differs from Winter Break Housing. If a student is required to be on campus for a Winter Term project, in-season athletic team, or intensive practice with the Conservatory, the housing and dining fees are waived for those who are verified and meet the qualifications. If a Winter Term student needs to come before January 2, they must also complete the Winter Break Housing form for any dates before the start of the Winter Term.

Department Sponsored Requests

Oberlin departments and offices can submit a request for their student workers to stay in their on-campus housing during Winter Break via the Winter Break Housing Registration. They can also submit a request for their student workers to arrive early for the spring semester via the Early Arrival Registration. This arrangement comes with the added benefit of no housing charges. However, it's important to note that the requesting department assumes responsibility for a dining charge of $40 per person per night.

Winter Housing is only available to students with an on-campus assignment for Fall 2023 or Spring 2024. Winter housing is not intended for individuals who are not part of housing during the regular academic year.
