Songs of Black Folk is a film that explores an annual music program featuring the largest gathering of Black musical talent on a single stage in the Pacific Northwest. This film follows musical director Ramón Bryant Braxton as he struggles to create a musical celebration for Juneteenth while honoring the unsung legacy of his grandmother. Songs of Black Folk captures and celebrates an overlooked community in the Pacific Northwest and helps mark an important era in American history.
