Anna Anderson 

(she/her)

Major: Politics and Law & Society

Hometown: Germantown, Ohio

Anna is focused on immigration policy, victims’ rights, and racial equity in the justice system. She has interned at the Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center and serves on the research board of Survivors of Sexual Harm and Allies (SOSHA) at Oberlin, supporting work alongside the Title IX Office. 

Ari Marrero

(she/her)

Major: Law & Society and Sociology

Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia

Ari’s work bridges student governance, athletics, and racial equity through roles including Student Senate representative, swim and dive team captain, and athletic liaison for ABUSUA (Oberlin's Black student union) and the Black Student Athlete Group. 

Clarady Brooks

(she/her)

Major: Communication Studies

Minors: Education Studies and Africana Studies

Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri

Clarady is committed to culturally responsive pedagogy and inclusive dialogue. She co-chairs And What!? (Oberlin’s Black femme hip-hop group), teaches Spanish at Oberlin Elementary, and advocates for recognition of African American Vernacular English (AAVE). 

Daisy Pacheco

Minor: Politics

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois

Daisy’s advocacy and research center immigration and community inequities, informed by her lived experience as the daughter of immigrants. She supports Latinx community-building and disability advocacy and aspires to become an immigration attorney. 

Emi Kawamura

(she/her)

Major: Psychology

Minors: East Asian Studies; Education concentration

Hometown: Findlay, Ohio

Emi’s work focuses on racial equity in early education, including tutoring, building DEI programming for young students, and research on how racism and color-blind education shape racial identity development. 

Jetzell Villegas

(she/her)

Majors: Hispanic Studies and Psychology

Hometown: Houston, Texas

Jetzell organizes support networks and programming for Latinx and undocumented communities as Program Coordinator for Obies for Undocumented Inclusion and the El Centro Volunteer Initiative. Her research examines barriers undocumented students face across the higher-ed journey. 

Rose Solga

(they/them)

Majors: Sociology (considering Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies)

Intended minor: Global Health

Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Rose works at the intersection of race, gender, sexuality, and health justice, including anti-oppressive approaches to comprehensive sex education through Oberlin’s Sexual Information Center (SIC). 

Isaiah Johnson 

(he/him)

Majors: Africana Studies and Politics

Intended minor: History or Philosophy

Hometown: New Haven, Connecticut

Isaiah uses writing and organizing as tools for justice, including editorial work with the Oberlin Review and organizing with Oberlin’s chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America. His research examines where DEI efforts fall short of structural equity. 

Zubin Bhattacharya

Majors: Politics and Business

Minors: African American Music; International Affairs concentration

Hometown: Brooklyn, New York

Zubin is a student leader and strategist who chairs advisory boards and works on strategic communications, including campus digital content initiatives. His interests include economic and racial inequities and financial literacy as empowerment. 

Chloe Caldwell

Majors: Writing & Communications and Psychology

Hometown: Missoula, Montana

Chloe has been active in sustainability initiatives at Oberlin and founded Music in the Zoo, providing free music lessons to youth in her hometown. She has held leadership roles in hospitality management focused on improving systems and guest experience.
