Four people. Four lives. Once strangers. Short lived but so precious--yet such long paths that are unlikely to cross. One theory. (Fate)
Honestly. This is what the objective is; all of us readers (yes, including me), take a second to think deeply about this next sentence. What if it was all for a reason? No, like seriously. Why is it that when you fix a bowl of cereal today that you happen to have no milk left? Obviously, because you forgot to buy milk.
Don't leave yet. That's beyond the point. Continue using your thinking hats and lucky socks; it might help here. I can't help myself but to make my blogs philosophical but that's what life is, in my opinion. The art of reasoning.
Getting closer to the point now. I had never expected to have dry cereal for dinner but it had to happen for life to teach me and you a lesson. There's always meaning behind what happens in our lives. Whether we like to think so or not, it's not really our choice. It's really easy to say we don't know, and that it's confusing, but inherently the proof is in our grocery list.
I was confused, 17, and barely knew what the word quad meant. I thought it was a "quadcrasher," which is a vehicle from the video game I used to play; otherwise known as F0rtnite. Anyways. As a 17-year-old would do, they got angry at the cereal (see how I said they, because that's not me anymore). He got angry at the table even, and then yelled because it hurt. Do quads hurt? Or does anger hurt? Wait, what's a quad?
A quad is a room that contains four people, or has the capacity to hold four people. Usually, you would have a lounge room in the middle with two doors entering an open double where you share a living space with one other roommate. That was confusing. I'm confused too. Think about a small house with two bedrooms and one communal living room. This small house has one bedroom that you share with a person, and another bedroom that another pair of people stay in. Essentially coexisting and the occasional hang out with your roommates.
The hanging out is categorized as occasional as we are usually swamped with college duties. You guys know how this goes.
These people grew up from completely different places, had unique lives, and yet ended up where? Ended up with me. Yes, I know how cool I am but I can't deny the fact that they were the coolest people that I could've ever met. I never really thought about how fast that one year living with them felt, until it's the next year and it's quiet. I can reminisce about the times we had but we're still all in contact and enjoy each other's companies outside the miniscule hard conversations and non-problems we encountered.
If there was one thing that I learned from living with four people, it is how much communication matters. We obviously are all close friends but we didn't like hurting each other's feelings and having to confront each other about someone's stinky socks, or plastic bottles laying around. Living with more people than just one will bring you to a point of liking the discomfort. Why this you say? Well, we could all empathize with one other when our problems were out on the table. As much as you feel close to someone, never be afraid to respectfully communicate your needs.
Anyways being less informative, don't forget to buy milk and pour cereal with intention. Just know that I loved my quad and I miss it. I hope everyone tries to live in a quad once in their college lifetime. Peace!
Blooper I forgot to add:
The photo up there? Yeah, that's us living our best lives before classes started. (We all know that we signed up for this.)
