Amelia R. ’27

I am Amelia, Class of 2027. I’m a classical vocalist from Pittsburgh, PA and absolutely love being an Obie.

If I’m not in class or rehearsal, I’m usually hanging out with friends. And I have to admit, I do love just hanging out and watching Youtube videos in my dorm. I’m an oddly adventurous homebody.

Some more info on me: I love to draw and write. I love sci-fi and horror media. I love animals and nature. I adore music—luckily, as I am a musician—and listen mostly to rock/classic rock and musical theater. Recently, my top artist on Spotify was Mozart (Yes, like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart—that Mozart). Followed by Doja Cat. So that’s basically who you’re dealing with here.

By my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in opera. I applied to and auditioned for the top conservatories in the country and was fortunate enough to have a lot of great choices. I chose Oberlin College and Conservatory (obviously). Thankfully, I stand by my decision. Read my articles and let me tell you why!
