Bonner Center

Bonner Center Programs

Bonner Center Programs connect Oberlin College students with schools, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies through:

  • Employment - America Reads, America Counts, Community-Based Work-Study Program, and the Ninde Scholars Program;
  • A highly selective community service scholarship - the Bonner Scholars Program;
  • The curriculum - community-based learning and research; and
  • Funded research fellowships - the Community-Engaged Research Fellowship.

All of our programs emphasize ongoing training and reflection that prepares students for ethical and responsible community engagement. Students explore academic and career interests, build professional skills, and learn from leaders in nonprofit and government agencies while addressing community-identified needs.
