OUR Research Ambassador

Susan Robinson-Cloete (she/they) is a fourth-year Neuroscience major and Chemistry and Writing and Communications Minor with an Integrative Concentration in Global Health. At Oberlin, she has been a student researcher in a neuroscience lab since the fall of 2021 and is also a Writing Associate at the Writing Center. They also play on Oberlin's Field Hockey team. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with friends. Susan is excited to help increase the visibility of research opportunities on campus and connect students to what they are passionate about.

Ava Harvey

OUR Research Ambassador

Ava Harvey (she/her) is a second-year double major in Greek and Latin. She is a lead research assistant on the MI Diaries Project at the Michigan State University Department of Linguistics, Languages and Cultures. She facilitates the project’s transcription team and analyzes sociolinguistic change in adolescents alongside doctoral candidates in linguistics. At Oberlin, Ava will continue to pursue questions in her own field, classics. In her free time she enjoys reading, road trips, and playing the piano.

Cecil Pulley

OUR Research Ambassador

Cecil Pulley (He/they) is a double major in Art History and GSFS currently researching the art, life, and legacy of Keith Haring through the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Fellowship. He is passionate about Oberlin’s many research opportunities, having completed two summers of the Oberlin Summer Research Institute and an art history research Winter Term, and currently is pursuing an Art History honors project. Outside of research Cecil is a Bonner Scholar, a member of WOBC and Oburlesque, and a drag performer.

My Trinh (she/her) is a 3rd year student studying Biology and Biochemistry. My is very enthusiastic about plant development and evolution, and she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in botany where developmental, molecular biology and systematics intersect. At Oberlin, My is working on her thesis studying the evolution in the breeding system of the Hawaiian endemic plant genus Schiedea. My was also an intern at Harvard University, where she investigate the evolution of wood in the Macaronesian Echium. In her free time, My enjoys gardening, painting, and playing the guitar. She is excited to help others starting their research.
