Thanks to All Involved in Bringing Michelle Obama to Commencement

First Lady Michelle Obama will join Marian Wright Edelman in addressing the Oberlin College Class of 2015 at its Commencement ceremony on Monday, May 25. We are receiving this tremendous honor because a video about our Ninde Scholars program was selected as the winner of the First Lady’s national Near-Peer Mentoring Challenge.

Oberlin’s Board of Trustees has approved recommendations to reappoint with continuous tenure 12 assistant professors and promote them to the rank of associate professor. The newly tenured associate professors are: Laura Baudot, Jack Calcut, Julia Christensen, Janet Fiskio, Amy Margaris, Mohammad Jafar Mahallati, Greggor Mattson, Emer O'Dwyer, Tracie Paine, Viplav Saini, Claire T. Solomon, and Natasha Tessone.

AMAM Seeks Poems Inspired by Museum Art

The Allen Memorial Art Museum and the Creative Writing Program are asking students, faculty, staff, and members of the greater Oberlin community to submit poems written in response to, describing, or inspired by works of visual art currently on view in the museum.
