Anthony Traska has been selected to lead the office of campus safety, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in higher education. 

The campus was abuzz this past weekend as alumni, families, and students took part in the return of several Commencement/Reunion Weekend traditions that included a performance by OCircus!, senior conservatory students, and Illumination in Tappan Square.

Megan Mitchell, academic engagement & digital initiatives coordinator for the Libraries, has added the role of CODEX Project Director for the Ohio Five to her portfolio, succeeding Jacob Heil of the College of Wooster in this position. 

Scott Hwang has worked in higher education since 2006, when he started his career as the director of student leadership overseeing orientation programs, student activities, and student government at Covenant College. He earned a master’s in higher education at Geneva College, where he served as a residence director.

It’s Saturday night in March and there’s a pulsating glow spilling from the windows of the Root Room in Carnegie Building. Inside, rows of spectators line the perimeter of a long narrow stage. Oberlin’s most anticipated fashion show begins as cheers swell when models, draped in creative attire, take their turn down the walk. This is a signature event during Black History Month.
