Second-year Sam Bernhard’s appearance as a contestant on the game show Jeopardy will be televised tonight, Wednesday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m. on Cleveland’s CBS affiliate, WOIO-TV. A life-long fan of the quiz show, Bernhard survived a grueling selection process that boasted an applicant pool of 200,000 potential contestants. Other Obies who have appeared on Jeopardy include Joe Clonick ’57, Kim B. Hasse ’71, Deb Taub ’78, Deborah ’73, Barbara Diamond ’90, Katie O'Reilly ’08, and Kendra Pettis ’10. Kathy Cacace ’04 will be on the show scheduled to air January 28, 2014.

Pianist Jiongli Wang to Perform with Oberlin Chamber Orchestra
On Friday, May 3, the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra performs a program that will showcase Concerto Competition winner Jiongli Wang in Frédéric Chopin’s First Piano Concerto, as well as fourth-year composition student Cashel Day-Lewis in the premiere of his Black River Prelude commissioned by Oberlin Conservatory in honor of the Lorain County Bicentennial.
