McWeakerton is composed of Chris Coble on guitar and lead vocals, Will Mauchmar on bass, and Alex Yeomans on drums. Established in late 2018, the band released its debut album, Lungfishopolis, on November 11, 2018, to positive press reviews, followed by promotional touring and performances at large venues. The Weak team’s distinctive secular sound has enabled them to open for groups such as Origami Angel, OHHME, and the Flesh Eaters. McWeakerton is an ASCAP-represented group of artists. Its members are seasoned musicians and performers, having participated in numerous projects and stage productions across the United States, collectively totaling more than 500 live shows. The band’s sophomore release, Dweeb, weaves together mathy riffs and contemplative lyricism with haunting soundscapes and jaunty yodels, capturing a nostalgic and self-contained 30-minute loop. Released on September 6, 2019, Dweeb received positive reviews. Featured in a viral TikTok, Mike Park of Asian Man Records praised Dweeb for its difficult-to-pin-down originality. McWeakerton released its third album, Flora/Fauna, on May 20, 2022. The 14-track odyssey explores themes of self-diagnosis, self-acceptance, and self-improvement, spanning from melodic pop songs to mixed-measure, soul-searching experiments.
