J-House Garden is located behind Johnson House on South Professor Street. Run by the Resource Conservation Team (RCT) with help from Oberlin faculty, staff, and community members, the garden is a teaching, relaxation, and event space. The produce grown by students during the summer is donated to Oberlin Community Services food pantry.

Garden Hours

Want to work with us in the garden? During fall and spring semesters, we host Garden Hours for two hours every weekend. All are welcome! Email recycle@oberlin.edu or check our social media for the semester’s schedule.

Garden ExCo

Every spring semester in J-House Garden, RCT members teach the popular Garden ExCo, in which students learn the basics of vegetable gardening: from starting seeds, to composting and perennial flowers. The Garden ExCo has 15 spots and is open to anyone in the community or college– if you are interested in learning more, please email recycle@oberlin.edu.

Events

The RCT is working on turning J-House Garden into an event space. More details to come in Fall 2023.

Location: Behind Johnson House at 216 S. Professor St. Oberlin, OH 44074.
