Biography

David Gutherz earned a BA at Oberlin College and an MA and a PhD at the University of Chicago Committee on Social Thought.

Gutherz works at the intersection of political theory and intellectual history, with a special emphasis on Fascism and its legacies. His dissertation dealt with struggles over epistemic injustice in Cold War Italy and he is currently working on a project about brainwashing. Gutherz has also edited, written, and reported radio stories for NPR and Jacobin.
