After a VERY Long Hiatus...

Hello All!

I am SOOOOOO sorry that I have not blogged since the ice age. Oberlin can get a bit hectic sometimes and this has been my busiest semester yet. Freshman year was a challenge, but sophomore year is a whole different ball game. There have been some high and some low points, but overall, I am happy about how everything has turned out. I've solidified my majors (African American Studies and Gender/Sexuality/Feminist Studies), gotten my summer plans together, and chopped off ALL of my hair!

I will be in Oberlin this summer working on my Mellon-Mays undergraduate research project. I will be focusing on African American women in film. It's a bit different from my original path to law school, but you can never go wrong with a research fellowship! Also, I was recently hired as an RA in Baldwin (the women and transgender collective on campus) and I am having a great time. I love the house, the residents and I was just offered a position for next year (so if there are any first years who plan to live here, I will be your RA in the fall).

So...I'm back! Feel free to stop by more often and say hi!

What women in film are you studying? Modern, like Halle Berry, or older style -- Dorothy Dandridge and Pam Grier?
