Faculty Lecture Series: The Body Politic

The Body Politic is a six-week multidisciplinary lecture and discussion series specially designed to introduce admitted students to the power and breadth of liberal arts learning at Oberlin. In weekly lectures and discussions, faculty members from across Oberlin will explore the social and political structures that we shape and are shaped by; discuss how race, gender, sexuality, and our other identities become sites of political contestation; and imagine new paradigms for social solidarity and reaching across difference to build mutual understanding and respect.

A lecture and subsequent discussion will take place every Tuesday from 7:00-8:45 PM EDT, beginning on March 28 and running through May 2. Students can register for as many sessions as they like; it is not required to attend every week.
