UNITAR-Oberlin Degree Program Process
Application Requirements
Applicants to the College of Arts & Sciences must demonstrate strong preparation in languages, mathematics, sciences, and social sciences. Applicants to the Conservatory of Music must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in their intended area of study and perform or provide a recorded audition.
Selection Process
The students will apply to Oberlin via the standard application process for international students. The college and conservatory have distinct application requirements, outlined in the links below.
GFPA will provide Oberlin with a list of applicants eligible to receive fully sponsored funding by February 1, 2023. GFPA will provide formal sponsorship letters documenting the amount, source, and duration of financial support guaranteed for each applicant. These letters must be submitted to Oberlin by March 1, 2023. Applicants will be notified of their admissions decision by mid-March, 2023.
College of Arts & Sciences Applicants
- Submit either the Common App or the Coalition Application by February 1, 2023

Conservatory of Music Applicants

Conservatory of Music Application
After Applying
Applicants will be reviewed by the relevant admissions office. All applicants must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency, although thresholds differ for the College of Arts & Sciences and the Conservatory of Music. Otherwise strong applicants who fall below the typical minimum English proficiency levels may be invited to participate in Oberlin’s ESOL summer program.
Applicants will be notified of their admission to the college and/or conservatory by mid-March.
Financial Commitment
Sponsoring organizations are expected to pay billed costs for enrolling students for the duration of their undergraduate studies, including tuition, room, board, insurance, and fees (including a GFPA contribution). Cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, room and board items will be billed for the Fall 2023 term on July 1, 2023, with a target due date of July 22, 2023. Spring term will be billed on or about December 1 with payment due on December 22, 2023.
