Biography

I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the desert meets the mountains and people love to eat green chile peppers. If I close my eyes, I can vividly picture the sights and sounds of my parents' busy kitchen with the aroma of fresh roasted chiles in the air. Hungry yet? Besides spicy New Mexican food, I enjoy a good story, lively music and quality time with my wife and five kids.

I received my BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico. I interned with NASA at a research center for a year before deciding higher education was where I belonged. I joined the Oberlin Admissions team in 2001 after working with college students for six years at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I love our eclectic community where I benefit from interacting with students from across the country and the world. They are smart, funny and talented but most of all they are students that care about making a difference. I feel privileged to be able to help students and their families discover Oberlin.

Your decision to explore Oberlin today is one step further in finding the right community. I hope to meet you while you’re visiting campus or perhaps in your home area during my travels.
