Biography

I am a licensed clinical and developmental psychologist specializing in early childhood mental health. As both an academic researcher and a clinician, my goal is to bridge prevention science and early childhood education to optimize long-term developmental outcomes for young children. In my work, I investigate the interacting roles that families, teachers, and schools play in supporting healthy socioemotional development and reducing risk for psychopathology. I am particularly interested in evaluating how early relational experiences—such as caregiver consistency and teacher-student relationships—shape development across the lifespan. Additionally, my work focuses on the implementation and evaluation of trauma-informed school practices, education policies, and early childhood interventions. I also contribute to the field of developmental psychopathology through meta-analysis.

My research is informed by nearly a decade of experience as a practicing clinician across clinical outpatient, primary care, and preschool settings. I most recently served as a postdoctoral clinician at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where I specialized in early childhood diagnostic assessment and evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions for young children and their families.
