Oberlin’s Recording Arts and Production program houses an extensive collection of hardware and software, allowing for incredible flexibility to explore old and new techniques alike.

A robust fiber optic network on campus, in conjunction with MADI hardware from RME and DirectOut Technologies, makes it possible to scale from a simple stereo session to large multitrack in-studio or remote recordings.

Our collection of over 100 microphones from manufacturers like AEA, AKG, Coles, DPA, Neumann, Sennheiser, Telefunken and more ensures we always have the right tools on hand to capture performances in the highest quality right from the start.

The Clonick control room features a Rupert Neve Designs 5088 Console, 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos monitoring, and a highly flexible workstation compatible with Merging Technologies Pyramix Masscore, Magix Sequoia, and Avid Pro Tools.
