Philanthropist Peter B. Lewis, who as an individual and as a member of his family contributed significantly to Oberlin’s Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies and the Green Arts District, died Saturday, November 23, at his home in Coral Gables, Florida. “Peter Lewis was a visionary, courageous, and civic-minded philanthropist,” says David W. Orr, Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics and senior adviser to the president. “His generosity to Oberlin has significantly changed the college and will be felt for a very long time.” Read his full obituary.
