Memorial Service for Eren Sean Guendelsberger ’17

The Oberlin community is invited to attend a memorial service for Eren Sean Guendelsberger ’17 at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Fairchild Chapel in Bosworth Hall. As a part of the service, there will be a commemorative tree planting in the northeast section of Tappan Square.
Eren Sean Guendelsberger was born in Washington, D.C., grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and attended Kenmore Middle School and H-B Woodlawn High School. Eren graduated May 2017 from Oberlin College, where they majored in computer science. Following graduation, Eren worked as a software engineer for Google in Mountain View, California.
Eren loved Oberlin. They sang with the Collegium Musicum and the Oberlin Musical Union. Eren completed summer software engineering internships at the Federal Communications Commission, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and Google. Eren was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Oberlin College Chapter. In May 2017, Eren was honored with the R.J. Thomas Award for Outstanding Computer Science Graduates.
